This guide has been designed to help you work within the Small Claims Division. It was developed as an informational guide only, and not as legal advice. The guide should answer many of your questions about small claims. Please keep in mind that the Clerkâs Office is unable to give you legal advice; but if you have procedural questions, our staff in the Small Claims Division will be happy to assist you.
Individuals wishing to file a small claims case against a person or business must complete these forms. The monetary limit for a small claims case is $6,000.00.

- $60.00 for claims up to $3,000 for one defendant, $20.00 each additional defendant
- $120.00 for claims $3,000.01 to $6,000 for one defendant, $20.00 each additional defendant
This form may be used after judgment for plaintiff to obtain information regarding the financial worth of the judgment debtor.
Original plus 1 copy, and self addressed stamped envelope
Filing Cost: $35.00
This form can be filed by judgment creditor after obtaining judgment and requires a debtor to present a summary of personal worth before the magistrate.
